Mark Cutifani, former CEO of Anglo American and chairman of De Beers, has been appointed to the advisory board of Diamond Standard.
Diamond Standard announced on Tuesday that Cutifani, who currently serves as chairman of Vale Base Metals, will bring his expertise to the company as it prepares to launch listed financial products for diamonds. These products will offer investors the opportunity to diversify into an under-allocated asset with promising growth prospects, according to the New York-based company.
Cutifani’s extensive global experience is expected to help Diamond Standard leverage its technology to expand into other natural resources as viable investment assets, said company founder Cormac Kinney.
