A recent diamond tender held by Sodiam E.P., Angola’s state-owned diamond trading company, featured a collection of diamonds totaling 447 carats. Among them was a remarkable 14-carat pink diamond and five white Type IIa diamonds in sizes ranging from 195 carats to 28 carats. The average price per carat was $27,700, with the pink diamond achieving the highest price per carat.
Lucapa, in partnership with Australian firm Lucapa Diamond Company Ltd., Angolan company Rosas & Petalas, and state-owned Endiama E.P., expressed satisfaction with the results, highlighting the ongoing value and demand for diamonds sourced from the Lulo mine. CEO Nick Selby of Lucapa commended the outcome, emphasizing the mine’s consistent production of exceptional diamonds that perform strongly in various market conditions.
