A 16.73-carat very light pink diamond and a rare 1.44-carat fancy red diamond are expected to lead an upcoming Sotheby’s auction, attracting worldwide attention.
The pink diamond, with VVS1 clarity, natural color, and a brilliant cut, is projected to sell for between CHF 1.1 million and CHF 1.8 million ($1.3 million to $2 million). Meanwhile, the red diamond, sourced from Australia’s famous Argyle mine, is anticipated to captivate bidders due to its exceptional rarity. The red diamond will be offered in a claw-set ring, featuring a cut-cornered rectangular mixed cut, along with a presentation case from the Argyle mine.
Sotheby’s is billing the auction as a showcase of remarkable craftsmanship, highlighting pieces from some of the most renowned designers of the 20th century. In addition to the pink and red diamonds, the sale will feature a collection of high-quality colored diamonds, showcasing some of the rarest shades in the world.
