Jil Sander, a renowned name in luxury fashion, is extending its iconic minimalist design aesthetic into the realm of fine jewelry. Famous for creating timeless wardrobe essentials that combine sophistication and modernity, the brand has long been celebrated for its exceptional craftsmanship in ready-to-wear apparel and accessories. Now, the label is adding a new dimension to its offerings with a debut collection of high-end jewelry.
Set for release in January 2025, Jil Sander’s fine jewelry line was first launched in the brand’s newly opened Tokyo store, located in the prestigious Ginza district. The collection will gradually be available at Jil Sander boutiques worldwide over the coming year.
The jewelry pieces, which seamlessly blend the brand’s signature simplicity with luxurious materials, are crafted from 18K white gold and rhodium-plated metals. Lab-grown diamonds in varying sizes are meticulously embedded into each piece, enhancing the natural, understated elegance that defines Jil Sander’s aesthetic. The design philosophy embraces organic shapes, reflecting the brand’s ethos of modern, minimalist sophistication.
Each piece in the collection is produced using the lost-wax casting technique, a method rooted in ancient artistry but now combined with advanced 3D printing and precision numerical control machinery. This approach ensures the creation of high-quality pieces with minimal environmental impact, reflecting the brand’s commitment to sustainable practices.
True to Jil Sander’s design principles, the jewelry features hand-polished surfaces with deliberate imperfections, allowing each piece to retain a sense of individuality. Notably, the diamonds are round-cut and set by hand, yet never perfectly aligned, creating a subtle, asymmetrical beauty that enhances their uniqueness.
The collection includes a welded choker, delicate earrings suitable for everyday wear, a hollow ring, and a matching bracelet—each piece designed to be a modern heirloom, offering a blend of precision, luxury, and the brand’s signature understated elegance.
