Tucked inside the Cool Girl Collective on Main Street in Bangor is a unique jewelry store that’s making waves with its innovative offerings. Jazmin Horne, the owner of Linked by Jazmin, has turned her lifelong passion for jewelry-making into a thriving business that reflects her community-driven spirit.
“When I walk in and see the ceiling my fiancé painted, the walls my neighbors helped me with, and the artwork from my friends, it feels like a true community space,” Horne shared.
Horne’s journey with jewelry began in her childhood, though she’s come a long way from crafting macaroni necklaces. Today, her store features sustainable, repurposed pieces that cater to modern tastes. Last year, she introduced permanent jewelry to her collection, a trend that’s gaining popularity for its durability and elegance.
“Permanent jewelry is made from 14-karat gold-filled or sterling silver, and it’s designed to be worn all the time without clasps. It’s a more sustainable option compared to cheaper pieces that tarnish and need replacing,” Horne explained.
While permanent jewelry can be pricey due to its high-quality materials, Horne wanted to ensure her store offered something for everyone. That’s why she recently added a charm bar, where customers can create personalized pieces to fit their style and budget.
“The charm bar has been a hit. People of all ages and budgets can come in, pick a base like a necklace, keychain, or bookmark, and then choose charms that reflect their personality. It’s a fun, interactive experience,” she said.
Horne believes the charm bar’s customization options make it an ideal spot for finding the perfect Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day gift. “You can truly personalize each charm to match the recipient’s taste. There are charms in every category and color, so there’s something for everyone,” she added.
In addition to her ready-made and customizable jewelry, Horne also offers repair services. She can restore family heirlooms or sentimental pieces, updating them to better suit the wearer’s current style.
“I love seeing the stories behind the jewelry people bring in. It’s rewarding to give new life to pieces that hold special meaning,” Horne said.
With her focus on sustainability, community, and personalization, Jazmin Horne is bringing a fresh and inclusive approach to jewelry shopping in Bangor. Whether you’re looking for a timeless piece, a custom creation, or a thoughtful gift, Linked by Jazmin has something to offer.
“Take your time exploring the charms and designs. There’s truly something here for everyone,” Horne encouraged.
