Jewelers of America (JA) announced on Wednesday that it is now accepting nominations for its “20 Under 40” program. This year, the program has been expanded to include not only retailers but also suppliers in the jewelry industry.
The “20 Under 40” program was launched in 2022 to honor young leaders under the age of 40 who have shown exceptional commitment and leadership in the jewelry retail sector. For the first time, JA will now recognize outstanding individuals in both retail and supplier roles, creating two separate lists: “20 Under 40: Jewelry Retail” and “20 Under 40: Jewelry Suppliers.”
To be eligible, nominees must meet specific criteria:
- They must be under 40 years old as of January 22, 2025.
- They must work full-time for an active JA Member company, either in retail or supply.
- Their company must be based in the United States.
- Retail nominees can include store owners, bench jewelers, managers, sales executives, or those working in marketing, accounting, or other operational roles.
- Supplier nominees can be jewelry designers or employees of manufacturers, wholesale firms, or service providers catering to the U.S. jewelry market.
- All nominees must have at least three years of experience in the jewelry industry.
The program aims to highlight the next generation of leaders who are driving innovation and excellence in the jewelry sector. Nominations are now open, and JA encourages the industry to submit candidates who exemplify leadership and dedication.
This expansion reflects JA’s commitment to recognizing talent across all facets of the jewelry industry, ensuring that both retailers and suppliers are celebrated for their contributions.
