Toronto residents now have a unique opportunity to design and craft their own jewelry, as Gem Studio, a popular U.S.-based create-your-own jewelry franchise, has opened its first Canadian location in the city.
The new studio, located at The Well on 486 Front St. W., celebrated its grand opening recently. Gem Studio offers customers the chance to create personalized jewelry through three types of workshops: silversmith, charm, and permanent jewelry.
At the studio, crafters can choose from a variety of semi-precious gems and high-quality sterling silver to design their own pieces. Options include rings, bracelets, earrings, pendants, bolo ties, pet collars, keychains, and cufflinks.
For those interested in a more hands-on experience, silversmith workshops allow participants to design and create jewelry from scratch using professional-grade materials. These three-hour sessions are led by skilled silversmiths and cater to individuals, groups, couples, or even corporate events.
Workshops are available by appointment and can be booked through the Gem Studio website. Prices vary depending on the type of jewelry created. On average, a piece costs between 125and150, while charm pieces range from 25to150 based on the materials selected.
The Toronto location marks Gem Studio’s first venture into Canada, joining its growing network of studios across the United States. This new addition offers Torontonians a creative and interactive way to design custom jewelry while enjoying a fun, hands-on experience.
