Several renowned jewelry brands were thrilled to lend their pieces for the third season of The White Lotus, set in Thailand. Names like David Webb, Jacob & Co., and Pamela Love worked closely with the show’s actors and costume designers to showcase jewelry that reflected both the opulent setting and the complex, often suspicious characters.
Each season of The White Lotus follows the lives of wealthy guests and staff at a luxury resort, delving into themes of class, privilege, and intrigue. The series blends sharp social commentary with humor, drama, and a murder mystery—making it a perfect platform for showcasing fine jewelry.
Levi Higgs, head of archives and brand heritage at David Webb, explained why they jumped at the opportunity to be part of the show. “We’ve always been fans of the show, not only for its bold commentary but also for its playful mix of satire and pop culture. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our jewelry to be seen in such a fitting context,” he said.
Higgs added that working with the show’s costume designer, Alex Bovaird, was a great experience. David Webb had previously been approached for Season 2, which was set in Sicily, but logistical challenges related to the pandemic made it impossible to participate. However, the timing was perfect for the third season, filmed in Thailand.
“For this season, we collaborated with Alex to bring themes of grandeur and nature into the jewelry,” Higgs explained. “For instance, the Repoussé Elephant Cuff was a natural choice, connecting beautifully with the Thai setting. Fans should keep an eye out for other jungle-inspired pieces throughout the series.”
David Webb also contributed to the red-carpet look of actress Natasha Rothwell, who plays Belinda, the spa manager, in the season’s premiere event. Rothwell wore gold and diamond geometric rings, along with rock crystal and diamond earrings, complementing her shimmering gold dress.
One standout character this season is Sritala, the resort owner, played by Thai actress Lek Patravadi. At the end of Episode 2, Sritala leaves the resort to be with her husband in Bangkok, where he is recovering from a stroke.
Jacob & Co. provided the perfect jewelry for Sritala’s elegant character. The brand outfitted her with the Papillion earrings, crafted in 18k white gold with citrine, tsavorite, white diamonds, and green enamel. She also wore the Fleurs de Jardin watch, valued at $460,000, which brings to life a rotating floral display, reflecting the cycle of life.
The watch features a stunning 288-facet tsavorite and 12 kite-cut rubies at the center, surrounded by eight satellite flowers made of multicolored sapphires and over 130 diamonds. The watch’s butterfly motif, with an 18k rose gold butterfly-shaped buckle, ties in perfectly with the butterfly theme in Sritala’s jewelry.
Pamela Love also had the opportunity to collaborate with actress Michelle Monaghan, who plays Jaclyn, an actress vacationing at the resort with two childhood friends, all of whom are hiding secrets.
“It was amazing to see how invested Michelle is in totally embodying her character,” Love shared. “She even thought about the kind of jewelry her character would wear and worked closely with the costume department to bring that vision to life.”
For Monaghan’s character, Love chose pieces that reflected the spiritual symbolism of the Thai setting, including 18k gold and diamond Dagger earrings with a ruby briolette that symbolizes a droplet of blood. Monaghan and Love also selected serpent-themed pieces for the actress, adding a touch of mystery to Jaclyn’s character throughout the series.
Through these collaborations, the jewelry played a significant role in bringing the characters and themes of The White Lotus to life, enhancing the drama and intrigue of the show’s third season.
