Bulgari has opened a new flagship boutique in Milan, marking a significant addition to the city’s luxury retail scene. The store, located on Via Montenapoleone in Milan’s prestigious Golden Triangle, is a tribute to the brand’s rich heritage and commitment to excellence in fine jewelry and watchmaking.
While recent openings for Rolex, including Watches of Switzerland’s Bond Street flagship in London and Gearys’ towering boutique on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, have redefined luxury watch retail, it is the new or refurbished stores of leading jewelry houses that are making the biggest impact in design and architecture.
Unlike Rolex stores, which often adhere to a uniform corporate style, jewelry maisons like Cartier, Chopard, and Van Cleef & Arpels have embraced unique and breathtaking interior designs. Bulgari’s latest boutique in Milan is a prime example of this trend.
Founded in 1884, Bulgari holds a deep connection to Italy, making this new boutique particularly significant. The store is housed in the historic Taverna Radice Fossati building, a neoclassical masterpiece designed by Ferdinando Albertolli in 1835. Spanning nearly 8,100 square feet across three floors, the boutique blends Roman tradition with Milanese architectural heritage.
The interiors showcase the artistry of Italian craftsmen, featuring works by Fabio Viale and Luca Pignatelli, glassware from Venini and Barovier & Toso, interior design by Pictalab, marble from Damiani and Musiva, furnishings by Mangiarotti, and textiles from Rubelli.
On the ground floor, visitors can explore Bulgari’s signature jewelry and watch collections, including Serpenti, Bulgari Tubogas, Divas’ Dream, B.zero1, and Octo. The store’s ceiling features a striking depiction of a snake, a symbol closely associated with the brand, while the floor boasts a mosaic of an eight-pointed star, inspired by Bulgari’s historic boutique on Via dei Condotti in Rome.
A grand formal staircase, illuminated by a Venetian glass chandelier, leads to the first floor, which is bathed in natural light and dedicated to Bulgari’s fine jewelry. The top floor serves as an exclusive space for private events and exhibitions, further elevating the boutique’s status as a premier luxury destination in Milan.
Bulgari’s latest opening is more than just a store—it is a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and architectural brilliance, setting a new benchmark for luxury retail in one of the world’s most fashionable cities.
