The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) has launched the Diamond Learning Center, a new, not-for-profit initiative designed to educate jewelry professionals. The launch coincides with April, celebrated as Diamond Month.
This program aims to help jewelry salespeople better understand and communicate the differences between natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, and diamond simulants. It provides valuable insights into the various value propositions of these diamonds, ensuring customers receive clear, accurate information.
The Diamond Learning Center is the first free, mobile-friendly educational platform tailored to both new and experienced diamond professionals. The NDC describes it as a complementary resource to more technical diamond education.
The platform features a range of content to suit different learning preferences, including videos, infographics, and interactive self-quizzes. More than 20 short videos, ranging from 30 seconds to three minutes, are available. These videos feature industry experts addressing common diamond-related questions.
In addition to the videos, the program offers four detailed learning modules. Each module lasts 20 to 30 minutes and covers topics that go beyond the basic 4Cs of diamonds. Learners who complete the modules will earn certifications of achievement. The modules cover subjects like “Differences Between Natural and Lab-Grown Diamonds,” “The Allure of Diamonds,” “The History of Diamonds,” and “Debunking Diamond Myths.”
The Diamond Learning Center also provides “train the trainer” workshops, with facilitator guides created by natural diamond experts. These resources are intended for store managers and trainers to help them educate their teams effectively.
Additional resources include industry research, reports, diamond trends, and free downloadable marketing materials, such as social media and point-of-sale assets. A directory of third-party educational resources from industry partners is also available for further learning.
With this launch, the NDC hopes to equip professionals with the knowledge to better serve their customers and strengthen the diamond industry.
