At the annual “Rising Star” awards ceremony, Fashion Group International (FGI) honored Paola Sasplugas with the Fine Jewelry Award. Sasplugas, the co-founder and creative director of the Barcelona-based jewelry brand PDPaola, was recognized for her exceptional work in the industry.
Other finalists in the Fine Jewelry category included Julie Kim of Bijules, Hiba Husayni of Zahn-Z Jewelry, and Isabel Calvert of Sette Jewelry.
Although Sasplugas could not attend the event, Jason McNary, the North American CEO of PDPaola, accepted the award on her behalf.
“I am humbled and inspired to be recognized alongside such talented designers as Tory Burch, Phillip Lim, and Jason Wu. This moment reflects the creative vision and passion that Paola brings to PDPaola and the bold spirit we bring to the U.S. market. We’re just getting started!” McNary commented.
Sasplugas expressed her gratitude in a statement, saying, “It’s rare that one gets to stop and savor it all, but this recognition gave me that moment. I’m thankful for the journey and the people who have helped create it. The change that pushes boundaries is ongoing. This is just the beginning.”
The awards ceremony, held last week in New York and hosted by actress Tiffany Haddish, brought together top designers, executives, and trendsetters. It also highlighted emerging talents in fashion, beauty, and other related fields.
