Madera Police report that the unidentified couple purportedly established a friendship with the victim, extending assistance with an immigration-related issue. However, this purported act of kindness took a sinister turn as the couple is accused of absconding with approximately $3,000 in cash and various pieces of jewelry from the victim’s residence. To compound the situation, the couple reportedly resorted to threats to coerce the victim into cooperation.
