Lucapa Diamond Company has recently made a dazzling announcement regarding its latest discoveries at the Lulo mine in Angola. Within just two days, the company retrieved two rough diamonds, each weighing over 100 carats. The first diamond, a stunning 162.42-carat type IIa gem, is set to be included in the company’s upcoming regular sales later this month. Meanwhile, the second diamond, weighing 116.14 carats, will be offered via tender alongside other esteemed type IIa diamonds found recently at the site.
These remarkable finds were uncovered in the terraces of mining block 46 within the Lulo mine, an area renowned for yielding large and valuable diamonds. These discoveries mark the first time this year that Lucapa has unearthed diamonds exceeding 100 carats from Lulo, following the significant find of a 235-carat rough stone back in November. Since 2012, Lucapa has accumulated a total of 42 stones weighing more than 100 carats from the Lulo mine, solidifying its reputation as a premier source of extraordinary diamonds.
