During her recent visit to Nigeria, Duchess Meghan paid homage to Princess Diana by wearing a necklace once owned by the late Princess of Wales. The necklace, a gift from Prince Harry, features a diamond-encrusted cross pendant on a gold chain, as reported by People magazine.
On May 11, Meghan adorned the necklace while attending a reception dinner at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters in Abuja alongside Prince Harry. She paired the necklace with a strapless ivory column dress from St. Agni, gold knot earrings from Dior, nude Aquazzura heels, and her customary Cartier Tank watch and gold bracelet.
This isn’t the first time Meghan has honored Diana through her jewelry choices. She often wears pieces that once belonged to the princess, including diamond butterfly earrings and Diana’s famous aquamarine cocktail ring. Even Meghan’s engagement ring holds two round-cut diamonds from Diana’s collection, alongside a larger center stone cushion-cut diamond from Botswana.
During another event in Nigeria, Meghan wore a Carolina Herrera dress she had previously worn to celebrate Prince Archie’s first birthday in 2020 and to announce her pregnancy with Princess Lilibet in 2021. She accessorized the dress with a green striped shawl, nude slingback leather sandals, gold hammered disc earrings from Jennifer Meyer, and a gold AURate collar necklace.
