Signet Jewelers has dropped 11 spots to 67th place in the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) 2024 ranking of the Top 100 Retailers.
Known as the world’s largest diamond jewelry retailer, Signet owns brands such as Kay, Zales, Jared, and Blue Nile. It was previously ranked 56th in both 2022 and 2023, and 78th in 2021.
According to the NRF, Signet’s US sales, where 91 percent of its stores are located, decreased by 7.3 percent in 2023, totaling $6.53 billion. The number of US stores also fell by 4.4 percent, going from 2,291 in 2022 to 2,190 in 2023.
Signet remains the only specialty jewelry store in the Top 100 Retailers 2024 List. The company reported a $40.1 million net loss for the 13 weeks ending May 4 (Q1 2025), with sales declining 9.4 percent to $1.5 billion in a challenging market.
The top three US retailers by sales continue to be Walmart ($635 billion), Amazon ($360 billion), and Costco ($234 billion), all of which are multiline retailers with jewelry departments.
