Jewelers of America (JA), the leading national trade association for the fine jewelry sector, has announced the opening of submissions for the 2025 GEM Awards. This prestigious event invites entries in three categories: Jewelry Design, Media Excellence, and Retail Excellence.
A notable change this year requires all submissions to be self-nominated. This adjustment aims to empower designers, editors, and retail brands to directly showcase their accomplishments to the GEM Awards Committee. The deadline for nominations is August 23, 2024, providing ample time for contenders to prepare their submissions.
After the nomination period closes, the GEM Awards Committee will review all entries diligently and select finalists in each category. These nominees will then be evaluated by a panel of industry experts. The final results, determined by an independent firm, will remain confidential until announced live during the GEM Awards ceremony.
Amanda Gizzi, Director of PR & Events at Jewelers of America, expressed excitement about the new self-nomination process, emphasizing its role in highlighting outstanding contributions within the jewelry and watch industry over the past year.
The GEM Awards, renowned as the premier gala of the jewelry and watch sector, celebrates individuals and organizations whose work significantly enhances the prominence of fine jewelry and watches. Winning a GEM Award signifies the highest level of achievement and excellence in the field.
Marion Fasel, from The Adventurine, serves as the 2025 GEM Awards Committee Chair, leading a distinguished panel of industry leaders including representatives from London Jewelers, JCK & LUXURY, CHANEL, and De Beers Group, among others.
