Tiffany has introduced one of its most intricate watches yet, inspired by the iconic Bird on a Rock motif.
Named the Bird on a Flying Tourbillon, this timepiece is crafted from white gold and carries a price tag of $305,000. Limited to just 25 pieces, it showcases a flying tourbillon mechanism—a hallmark of high-end mechanical watches renowned for enhancing accuracy by counteracting gravitational effects. This mechanism appears to float within the watch face, visible under a dome of faceted sapphire crystal.
Artistically, the Bird on a Flying Tourbillon draws inspiration from the renowned “Bird on a Rock” brooch designed by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. in 1965. The watch is adorned with 848 diamonds totaling 4 carats, and features a prong-set 0.42 carat solitaire diamond as its winding crown.
