Ethical Metalsmiths has launched a new online jewelry store that repurposes discarded and broken jewelry. The Radical Jewelry Makeover Store features pieces crafted from old earrings, bracelets, and necklaces.
The store showcases creations from Ethical Metalsmiths’ RJM Artist Project collective and entries from the nonprofit’s Rejewelry Competition. The collection includes unwanted and broken jewelry—such as mismatched earrings, tangled chains, and damaged items—that would otherwise be discarded.
RJM is a global project focused on community-based mining and jewelry recycling. It provides local designers with tools to display their creativity while promoting environmental sustainability. The initiative emphasizes education, collaboration, and sustainable practices within the jewelry industry.
Each piece is handcrafted by jewelers worldwide. The store offers new items with accompanying stories and details about the designers. Jewelry prices range from under $100 to around $3,000.
