Two exceptional D-flawless diamonds, each weighing 18.38 carats, will headline Sotheby’s upcoming online auction. These diamonds are expected to sell for up to HKD 40.5 million (approximately $5.2 million).
The diamonds, which are round brilliant and type IIa, will be featured on Sotheby’s Sealed platform. This online auction format allows bidders to see only their own bids. The auction for these diamonds runs from September 19 to 27.
Additionally, Sotheby’s will hold another online auction titled The Gem Drop, from September 30 to October 8. This auction will include three unique pieces: a white diamond, a colored diamond, and a colored gemstone.
The first item is a ring with a 10.18-carat fancy-intense-yellow diamond, set with cut-cornered rectangular mixed-cut and flanked by trapezoid diamonds. This ring is estimated to sell for up to $200,000. Another ring features a 4.51-carat D-flawless round-brilliant diamond and is expected to fetch up to $150,000. The third item is a ring with a 2.31-carat emerald-cut Colombian emerald, accented with trapezoid diamonds, with a top estimate of $35,000.
