An Australian jeweler has unveiled a limited edition of quokkas, small marsupials known as the world’s happiest animals, adorned with 3.39 carats of Argyle Pink diamonds. Linneys, based in Subiaco, Western Australia, crafted three unique pieces, each priced over AUD 500,000 (USD 340,000).
These creations celebrate two of Western Australia’s natural treasures: the Argyle pink diamonds and the quokka. Each piece features approximately 280 grams of 18K yellow and rose gold, complemented by 10.62 carats of white diamonds and 0.34 carats of Argyle champagne diamonds.
The quokkas are designed with a detachable leaf, embellished with 2.99 carats of Argyle Pink diamonds, which can be worn as a separate necklace. Quokkas are a rare, nocturnal species native to Rottnest Island, off the coast of Perth, with an estimated population of 10,000 to 12,000. Collectors highly value Argyle’s fancy color diamonds, especially after the mine’s closure in November 2022.
