A 19-year-old college student recently returned home for a break and discovered a shocking surprise. Her mother had incorporated one of the young woman’s crystals from her rock collection into the home decor—an unusual sight, considering the collection had been sold.
The girl had spent over a decade collecting rocks, investing more than $1,000 to build the collection. When she arrived home, she asked her mother about the crystal. That’s when her mother revealed that she had sold the entire collection during a garage sale.
The student had packed up the rocks before heading off to college this fall, knowing she wouldn’t be able to fit them in her dorm room. As her parents were preparing to move, she had asked her brother to take care of the collection until she could use it to decorate her room in their new home.
Her collection held more than just monetary value—it was full of sentimental pieces, some gifted by family or friends, and others found during meaningful trips.
However, instead of keeping her request, her brother took the rocks he liked and told their mother to sell the rest. The entire collection was then sold without her knowledge or consent.
