Trans Atlantic Gem Sales (TAGS) and Sodiam have successfully raised $12.9 million from the sale of 42 special diamonds in their recent tender.
TAGS reported a “highly positive” response from buyers in Luanda, Angola’s capital, despite ongoing challenges in the global diamond market. In July, TAGS sold 45 diamonds, including a notable 14-carat pink stone, totaling $21.6 million.
During the latest event, TAGS sold 42 out of 44 diamonds weighing over 10.8 carats, in partnership with Sodiam E.P., Angola’s state-owned diamond trading company. Among these, two stones exceeded 175 carats.
Anthony Peter, TAGS founder and director, noted, “This collaboration continues to showcase the benefits of a transparent tender system, which both buyers and mines value for its competitive outcomes.”
