Fura Gems is set to host its seventh auction of rough Colombian emeralds later this month, offering the largest quantity of carats it has ever featured in a sale.
The auction will occur across two locations, the company announced on Monday. The first event will be held in Bogotá, Colombia, from November 11 to 13, followed by the second in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 21 to 25. A total of 132,000 carats of high-quality emeralds will be up for bid.
The emeralds are sourced from Fura’s Coscuez mine in Muzo, Colombia. The company has been employing advanced exploration and extraction methods at the site to improve the quality and yield of the gemstones.
“These emeralds represent the heritage and quality that have made Colombian emeralds highly coveted worldwide,” said Rupak Sen, Fura’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Our auctions offer rare access to the finest stones from the Coscuez mine.”
In addition to the Colombian emeralds, Fura will also auction Mozambican rubies from December 10 to 24 and Australian sapphires from January 21 to 24.
