Jordan Chiles, a key member of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team that clinched gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, recently shared a personal milestone with her followers, showcasing custom-made diamond grills designed for the Games. The 23-year-old gymnast took to Instagram to express her gratitude, thanking @jimmyxboi and @donerightandco for creating the special piece. Chiles’ post featured a close-up of her new dental accessory, with the caption, “Thank you @jimmyxboi and @donerightandco for my grills that I got custom for the Olympics!!!”
Chiles’ journey to Olympic glory in Paris followed a dramatic shift in her career path after debuting at the Tokyo 2021 Games. Initially slated to compete in the vault and floor exercises in the team finals, Chiles was called upon to replace Simone Biles on the uneven bars and balance beam after Biles withdrew, citing the psychological challenge of “twisties.” At the 2024 Games, Chiles contributed scores across all four apparatuses, playing an integral role in securing the U.S. team’s gold medal.
Despite the team’s success, Chiles faced controversy when she was initially awarded a bronze in the floor exercise finals, only to have it revoked following an appeal by the Romanian Gymnastics Federation. The appeal questioned the U.S. team’s late request for a score adjustment. Amidst the turmoil, Chiles made a series of public appearances at fashion events and award shows, drawing attention for her style.
In the days leading up to the holiday season, Chiles flaunted her fashionable side again, sharing an Instagram story featuring her diamond grills. Her post was a celebration of both her Olympic achievements and her personal style.
Shortly after arriving in New York, Chiles posted a series of photos showcasing her all-black ensemble, which included a fitted top, leather skirt, and jacket, with the caption: “Living my New York life for a little.” For Thanksgiving, the gymnast embraced hip-hop fashion, donning an oversized black shirt, baggy blue jeans, a beanie, and high-rise boots. She captioned the look: “Lover girl on Thanksgiving.”
In the wake of her Olympic success, Chiles has continued to make waves in the fashion world. She made her runway debut at New York Fashion Week, walking for Kim Shui’s Spring 2025 collection. The following month, she appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards, where she shared the stage with rapper Flavor Flav.
Chiles is also preparing to share her personal journey in a memoir, titled I’m That Girl: Living the Power of My Dreams, set for release in Spring 2025 through Harper Influence. The book will delve into her experiences as a Black athlete in a demanding sport, the hurdles she overcame to reach the Olympic stage, and the challenges she faced following the Paris Games. The memoir will also explore the controversy surrounding her floor exercise bronze medal, offering insight into how Chiles persevered despite setbacks.
Lisa Sharkey, Senior Vice President and Publisher at Harper Influence, praised Chiles for her authenticity and compelling storytelling. “Jordan’s powerful journey will resonate with readers everywhere,” Sharkey remarked, highlighting the impact of Chiles’ personal and professional growth.
