Jewelers of America (JA) and the Gem Awards committee have named Chanel as the recipient of the prestigious 2025 Gem Award for High Jewelry Excellence. The award, which celebrates exceptional achievements in high jewelry design, recognizes the brand for its groundbreaking “Haute Joaillerie Sport” collection, unveiled earlier this year.
This accolade honors a brand for its innovative collections that have helped elevate consumer interest and demand for high jewelry. Chanel, renowned for its luxurious craftsmanship and timeless style, continues to lead the way in the industry with creations that blend tradition with contemporary design.
Founded by Gabrielle Chanel in the early 20th century, the French luxury house has become synonymous with high-end fashion and jewelry. Chanel’s commitment to excellence is evident in its high jewelry pieces, each crafted entirely by hand. From the initial sketches by the Fine Jewelry Creation Studio to the meticulous work carried out by artisans at the brand’s atelier, every piece reflects the brand’s dedication to traditional French savoir-faire.
The “Haute Joaillerie Sport” collection, which earned Chanel this year’s recognition, is lauded for its innovative approach to design, combining the brand’s signature artistic creativity with fresh, exciting elements that have captivated high jewelry enthusiasts.

The Gem Award for High Jewelry Excellence will be presented alongside several other prestigious honors at the annual Gem Awards gala, including the Lifetime Achievement, Jewelry Design, Media Excellence, and Retail Innovation awards.
As previously announced, New England jeweler John Green will receive the Lifetime Achievement award. The winners for the Jewelry Design, Media Excellence, and Retail Innovation categories will be unveiled live during the event.
The 2025 Gem Awards gala will take place on March 14 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.
