In his inaugural season with the Green Bay Packers, running back Josh Jacobs has quickly become a key figure in the team’s offensive success. However, as the Packers head into the holiday season, Jacobs is making sure to recognize those who have helped him shine on the field: the offensive line.
For Christmas, Jacobs gifted custom diamond pendants to all 12 members of the Packers’ offensive line. The personalized jewelry, crafted by Houston-based ZoFrost and Co., features each player’s number on the front, with their name engraved on the back, alongside the Packers’ iconic “G” logo. And as a gesture of self-appreciation, Jacobs also ordered one for himself.
The stunning gifts were shared on ZoFrost’s Instagram account, where the custom jewelry maker showcased the impressive designs. “Couldn’t do it without them,” Jacobs wrote on his own Instagram story, posting a video of the pendants and giving a nod to the linemen who have been instrumental in his standout season.
A Dominant Force in 2024
Jacobs has been a driving force behind the Packers’ success in 2024, helping propel the team to a top-10 offense. With his bruising running style, Jacobs has set the tone early in games, often leading the charge on the opening drives.
In a standout performance against the Seattle Seahawks two weeks ago, Jacobs touched the ball on nine of the Packers’ first 10 plays, culminating in a 1-yard touchdown run. He continued to assert his dominance on Monday night against the New Orleans Saints, where he played a pivotal role in the Packers’ opening drive. Jacobs touched the ball on six of the first 10 plays, with a 20-yard run that set up the game’s first touchdown. He finished the game with 69 yards on 13 carries, taking a well-deserved rest in the second half as the Packers cruised to a 34-0 victory.
Jacobs’ Historic Season
With 1,216 rushing yards this season, Jacobs ranks fourth in the NFL, marking the second-highest total of his career. His 13 rushing touchdowns are tied for second-most in the league, and he’s been on a tear, scoring in each of his last six games, including two three-touchdown performances during this stretch.
Jacobs’ impact has extended beyond the running game. His effectiveness in the passing game, particularly on screen plays, has helped the Packers’ offense stay versatile and dynamic. Jacobs has hauled in 35 receptions for 340 yards, adding a receiving touchdown to his already impressive totals.
A Perfect Fit for Green Bay
At just 26 years old, Jacobs has exceeded the Packers’ expectations since signing a four-year, $48 million free agent contract in March. After spending the first five years of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders, Jacobs has found a perfect fit in Green Bay, providing the team with the playmaking ability they hoped for when they brought him in.
As Jacobs continues to shine, he will look to play a crucial role in the Packers’ upcoming matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. With the Packers (11-4) securing a playoff spot, Jacobs will aim for another big performance to help the team win their third straight game and exact revenge for an earlier-season loss.
In the Packers’ Week 4 matchup against the Vikings, Jacobs saw one of his lightest workloads of the season. He rushed for just 51 yards on nine carries in the Packers’ 31-29 loss. However, with the Packers trailing 28-0 in the second quarter, they largely abandoned the running game in favor of a pass-heavy attack, with quarterback Jordan Love attempting 54 passes.
Expect Jacobs to be a focal point of the offense on Sunday, as Green Bay looks to avenge that defeat and secure momentum heading into the postseason.
