Jewellery valued at more than £10 million (approximately $12.5 million), along with designer handbags worth £150,000, was stolen from a home in Primrose Hill, London, on December 7.
The Metropolitan Police reported that a man, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, broke into the property on Avenue Road between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm. The suspect gained access by climbing through a second-floor window.
Among the stolen items were Hermes Crocodile Kelly handbags, £15,000 in cash, and jewellery worth £10.4 million. The jewellery collection included several unique, high-value pieces, such as gem-encrusted necklaces and bracelets.
The suspect, who was described as wearing a dark hoodie, cargo pants, and a grey baseball cap, kept his face covered during the theft.
In response to the crime, the homeowners are offering a £500,000 ($627,965) reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the thief. Additionally, a second reward of 10% of the value of the recovered items will be offered for tips that lead to the return of the stolen jewellery.
Detective Constable Paulo Roberts called the crime a “brazen offence,” adding that the suspect entered the property while potentially armed with an unknown weapon. “The suspect has stolen jewellery worth £10.4 million, much of which is sentimental and unique in design, making it easily identifiable,” he said.
The police are urging anyone who was in the Avenue Road area around the time of the crime, or who may have witnessed anything suspicious, to come forward. They also encourage anyone who has seen the stolen jewellery or been offered it for sale to contact the police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
