SALT LAKE CITY — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of Yaomiao children’s jewelry sets due to the discovery of unsafe levels of lead and cadmium, which violate the Federal Hazardous Substances Act.
The Salt Lake County Health Department revealed that around 6,900 jewelry sets, sold on Amazon between January 2022 and March 2024, are affected by the recall.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled jewelry sets, remove them from children’s reach, and contact LordRoads for a full refund,” the CPSC advised. Customers will be required to dispose of the jewelry and send a photo of the discarded sets to [email protected]. LordRoads and Amazon are contacting known buyers directly.
The recalled jewelry sets feature silver-colored pieces adorned with multicolored gems, designed as unicorns, butterflies, hearts, turtles, stars, or rainbows with clouds. The lead and cadmium present in the jewelry can be toxic if ingested and may lead to serious health problems, according to the CPSC.
