Christian Caine Design, a renowned jewelry company based in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, is set to open a full-service retail store in Winchester’s Old Town. The new store will occupy the former Wells Fargo building at 201 N. Loudoun St.
Realtor H. Paige Manuel of OakCrest Commercial Real Estate, who manages the property on behalf of owners Ron and Elizabeth McGehee, shared details about the upcoming project. “It’s going to be a beautiful design center,” Manuel said. The McGehees purchased the building for $2 million in September 2021, following Wells Fargo’s closure of its Old Town branch in May 2021.
The jeweler will lease the entire first floor of the building, spanning 4,000 square feet. “That’s a pretty good size for a jewelry design center,” Manuel noted. Renovations are expected to begin next month and take approximately four months to complete. If everything stays on schedule, the store is slated to open this summer.
Christian Caine Design, founded in 1990, is known for its award-winning, custom-made engagement and wedding rings, as well as unique necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and candles. The company operates a design studio in Nice, France, and currently has a small retail outlet in the lobby of Winchester’s George Washington Hotel. Manuel confirmed that the hotel location will remain open even after the new store launches.
“It’s nice to see a new retailer coming downtown,” Manuel said, highlighting the positive impact of the new store on the local community. The upcoming design center is expected to bring a fresh retail option to Old Town, offering customers a spacious and elegant shopping experience.
