As the Spring Festival approaches, luxury watchmakers are unveiling special edition timepieces to honor the Lunar New Year. This year, the spotlight is on the Year of the Snake, with brands like Longines, Swatch, Dior, and Harry Winston releasing unique designs inspired by the zodiac animal.
Longines leads the charge with its Conquest Heritage model, limited to 2,025 pieces. The watch features a striking gradient red dial, gilt hands, and indexes. The case back is engraved with a serpent holding a Lingzhi mushroom, a design by Chinese artist Wu Jian’an.
Swatch takes a bold approach with its Wood Snake collection. The brand offers two vibrant designs: Blue and Golden Lithe Dancer and Golden Red Bamboo. Both models celebrate the snake’s transformative symbolism with eye-catching colors and patterns.
Dior introduces the Grand Soir, a highly exclusive piece limited to just 38 worldwide. The watch showcases a rose-gold snake navigating a Toile de Jouy background adorned with mother-of-pearl flowers and leaves. The design pairs the snake, a symbol of strength and wisdom, with delicate rose-gold butterflies.
Harry Winston adds two limited-edition watches to its Moments Collection. One is crafted in rose gold, the other in white gold. Both feature 118 brilliant-cut diamonds on the case and a lacquered snake on the dial. Additional gemstones, including emeralds, spessartite garnets, and green sapphires, enhance the serpent’s shimmer. Each version is limited to eight pieces.
Since 2016, Harry Winston has marked the Lunar New Year with unique timepieces. This year’s designs continue the tradition, blending artistry and luxury to celebrate the Year of the Snake.
These watches not only capture the essence of the zodiac but also showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of their makers. As the Spring Festival approaches, these timepieces offer a luxurious way to welcome the new year.
