Casio has expanded its Edifice collection with the introduction of two new models in the EFB-109D series: the EFB-109D-1AV with a black dial and the EFB-109D-2AV with a blue sunburst dial. These models, which follow Casio’s recent release of new Edifice and Oceanus timepieces, continue the brand’s focus on practical, straightforward designs. Both watches feature sapphire crystal, offering superior scratch resistance, a 100-meter water resistance rating, and durable stainless-steel construction.
The case dimensions are 43.5mm in height, 38.5mm in width, and 9.2mm in thickness, with a brushed stainless-steel finish. The dial is simple, with hour and minute markers, a date window at 3 o’clock, and a second hand for precise timekeeping.
The sapphire crystal provides added protection against scratches compared to the more common mineral glass, while the screw-back case enhances durability. The 100-meter water resistance rating ensures the watches are suitable for everyday wear, including swimming, though they are not intended for diving.
Powered by a quartz movement, the watches offer an estimated battery life of three years. They lack advanced features like solar charging, Bluetooth, or smart capabilities, focusing instead on reliability and simplicity. While the watches are currently listed for $119 on third-party retailers like Tic Tac Area (though out of stock), they are expected to be priced lower when available on Casio’s official website.
