The Centurion Show, held annually at the Phoenix Biltmore Resort, is the premier event for luxury jewelry designers and retailers. Taking place from February 2 to 4, 2025, the show kicked off the year’s jewelry trends in the U.S. It is often the first major trade fair of the year, setting the stage for the designs that will captivate consumers throughout the months to come. This year’s show highlighted creatively designed jewelry featuring vibrant colored gemstones, as well as elegant diamond pieces for engagement rings, wedding bands, and large statement designs.
This exclusive event, which celebrated its 24th year, saw a record turnout of over 330 retail businesses. More than 250 companies showcased their products, breaking previous attendance records.
The Rise of Colored Gemstones
Color was the defining theme at this year’s Centurion Show. Many brands, even those traditionally focused on diamonds, embraced the trend of using colorful gemstones in their collections.
Varsha Diamonds, for example, introduced their “Color Candy” collection, which features a playful mix of gemstones like amethyst, garnet, blue topaz, and citrine. These stones are set in 14k gold or 14k gold-plated silver. Nick Mehta, CEO of Varsha Diamonds, explained, “Color is a key element of modern fashion, and the growing demand for colored gemstones has encouraged our retail partners to request more vibrant designs.”
New York’s Gumuchian, renowned for its diamond jewelry, also embraced color with its “Spectrum” collection. This included two-stone “toi et moi” rings and drop earrings featuring a blend of colored gemstones and diamonds. The brand also showcased a striking necklace adorned with a variety of colorful gems.
These bold moves reflect a broader shift in the market. The decline in natural diamond demand, driven by the rise of more affordable lab-grown diamonds, is encouraging many jewelry companies to diversify and explore new opportunities with colored stones.
Innovative Designs and New Collections
Mark Henry Jewelry, known for its high-end pieces featuring rare gemstones, introduced a new collection at the Centurion Show. The capsule collection includes cabochon-cut pink and green tourmalines, moonstones, 18K gold, and diamonds, all crafted into stunning designs.
Bellarri, the fine jewelry brand founded by designer Bellarri Adleman, unveiled two new collections. “Luna” features a pendant adorned with graduated Rhodolite gemstones set in 14k white gold. Meanwhile, the “Alexa” collection showcases stacking bangles made from various multicolor gemstone cuts and shapes, set in 14k rose, yellow, and white gold.
Lisa Nikfarjam, the designer behind Lisa Nik, presented a striking necklace featuring an array of multi-colored gemstones. Each piece is unique due to the natural variation of the gemstones used. Nikfarjam also highlighted her work with opals, exploring their color-changing qualities in new designs.
Another brand embracing the versatility of opals is Goshwara. Led by Sweta Jain, whose family has a rich history in the colored gemstone industry in Jaipur, India, Goshwara’s new collection includes animal-themed designs called “Ark,” with multi-colored gemstones set in yellow gold.
Conclusion
The 2025 Centurion Show showcased an impressive array of jewelry that emphasized color, creativity, and innovation. As the industry adapts to shifting consumer preferences, colored gemstones are taking center stage, and designers are eager to explore new avenues beyond traditional diamonds. This year’s event not only revealed the direction of jewelry trends but also demonstrated how brands are responding to a changing market landscape.
