Cartier, in collaboration with DFS Group Limited, has launched its first West Coast airport boutique at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, this new boutique marks a significant expansion of Cartier’s global presence, joining the brand’s network of 24 boutiques in 19 major airports worldwide.
The LAX boutique is not just a retail space; it’s a destination that blends the spirit of Los Angeles with Cartier’s French heritage. It offers travelers an immersive experience that highlights artistry, sustainability, and craftsmanship, setting a new standard for luxury retail in the travel sector.
The design of the boutique showcases Cartier’s vision for reimagining airport retail, an initiative that began in 2020. The exterior of the boutique is adorned with champagne gold panels, their wave-like patterns reflecting California’s coastal beauty. Inside, the decor features sandy neutrals, oceanic blues, and sunset hues, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that mirrors the vibrant energy of L.A.
A mural inside the boutique combines the brand’s iconic panther with elements of L.A.’s skyline, blending local culture with global luxury. This creative space allows travelers to explore a curated selection of Cartier’s renowned jewelry, timepieces, fragrances, and leather goods, each piece crafted with the brand’s signature precision.
This new venture also reflects Cartier’s commitment to sustainability, with the boutique aiming for LEED certification. Virginie Martignac, Cartier’s Global Travel Retail Director, expressed the importance of this opening, saying, “The LAX boutique represents our commitment to expanding our presence in key airports, offering travelers a unique experience that blends Cartier’s creativity with the energy of Los Angeles.”
Walter Bolognino, President & CEO of Cartier North America, added, “We’re excited to welcome both local and international guests to our new space at Cartier LAX, a city that has supported Cartier for over 50 years.”
The partnership with DFS, a leading luxury travel retailer, underscores a shared vision to push the boundaries of traditional retail. Malissa Iannone Akay, Global President of Merchandising and Marketing at DFS, highlighted the significance of the Tom Bradley International Terminal, saying, “This location is a key part of our strategy to offer exceptional experiences to luxury travelers.”
Together, Cartier and DFS have created a boutique that embodies the allure of Los Angeles while reaffirming their expertise in curating luxury experiences. As travelers move through this global hub, the Cartier LAX boutique stands as a beacon of elegance, innovation, and cultural connection.
