A jewelry outlet on Tariq Road was sealed by the Regional Tax Office One (RTO-I) on Saturday for failing to comply with Point of Sale (POS) regulations, which apply to the jewelry sector. This marks the first such action within Zone 3’s administrative jurisdiction.
The outlet was sealed under Section 150-ZEO of the Sales Tax Rules 2006 for issuing receipts that were not connected to the POS system.
Dr. Faheem Muhammad, Chief Commissioner of RTO One, praised the action, highlighting the importance of enforcing compliance with POS regulations in the jewelry sector.
