Los Angeles-based brands Kinn Studio and Janessa Leoné have joined forces to create a fine jewelry collection that blends craftsmanship with a shared design philosophy.
“We speak the same language,” said Janessa Leoné, a hatmaker and accessories designer, about working with Jennie Yoon, founder of Kinn Studio. Both brands are independently owned and self-funded, which helped them find common ground in their approach to quality and intentionality.
“We focus on raw materials, product quality, and thoughtful design,” said Leoné, who launched her namesake line of wool hats in 2013. “We don’t release massive collections every year because we have to be intentional and run profitable, sustainable businesses.”
The collaboration features a 10-piece collection of sculptural rings, earrings, and ear cuffs crafted from 14-karat gold and sterling silver. The pieces incorporate both lab-grown and natural diamonds.
“People are more comfortable mixing metals,” said Yoon, who founded Kinn Studio in 2017 with the goal of creating modern heirlooms. “So we thought, ‘Let’s offer both and give customers the choice.’”
Inspired by Los Angeles’ coastal landscape, the collection reflects the movement of water and the waves of the Pacific Ocean. The designs feature fluid, organic curves that intertwine with the city’s architecture.
“It’s interpretive, dynamic, and multifunctional,” Leoné said. “It’s inspired by transformation.”
The collection offers versatility—rings can be worn as ear cuffs and vice versa. “I loved that we could incorporate adaptability into the designs,” Leoné added.
Priced between $180 and $5,080, the collection launches Thursday. It will be available exclusively on kinnstudio.com and janessaleone.com, as well as at each brand’s store at Platform in Culver City, California.
