Boucheron’s latest collection takes inspiration from the brand’s rich legacy while embracing a fresh, contemporary approach. The Serpent Bohème flower, a signature design from the brand’s archives, has been reimagined with sleek links, brilliant-cut diamonds, and pear-shaped motifs. The result is a collection that feels both enchanting and modern.
Claire Choisne, the brand’s creative director, revealed the inspiration behind the new collection in an interview with Vogue Arabia. “This year, I wanted to reinvent this icon by drawing inspiration from an exceptional archival piece from 1974,” she explained. “What attracted me to this sautoir necklace was its boldness and unique character. Its flower shape and vintage style felt both of its time and timeless. This is how the Serpent Bohème Vintage line was born.”
The flower motif inspired a total of 15 new creations, each one paying tribute to the original design while adding a modern twist. “An icon is defined by its ability to remain recognizable through strong identity, while adapting to changing times,” Choisne said.
Unlike the original designs, which featured coral and onyx, the new pieces are made from diamonds and gold. Boucheron’s signature craftsmanship shines through in the intricate honeycomb pattern on the reverse side of each piece, as well as in the delicate, twisted chains woven from complex techniques.
“While creating something new, I have been careful to respect and preserve the traditional jewelry-making techniques that are part of our heritage,” Choisne added.
