Lauren Errick, a 24-year-old Northport resident, has turned her childhood love for seashell hunting into a thriving jewelry business called Le Gaudere. As a child, Errick enjoyed exploring the shores of her hometown, searching for seashells with a bucket in hand. Her deep connection to the colors, shapes, and textures of these finds now serves as the foundation for her unique creations.
Le Gaudere specializes in “resort wear jewelry,” and each collection draws inspiration from nature. Errick skillfully transforms her beachcombing discoveries into sculptural pieces that embody the fluidity and movement of both the seashells they represent and the waves that brought them ashore. Her meticulous attention to detail, honed during her childhood explorations, is evident in her metal and enamel jewelry, which vividly captures the shells’ features and colors.
For Errick, jewelry is about crafting a world and evoking emotions within each piece. She believes that every jewelry item has a story to tell, one that she hopes to share with those who wear and admire her creations.
After graduating from St. Anthony’s in 2017, Errick pursued her passion for fashion at Parsons School of Design. In 2022, she officially launched her jewelry brand. On October 7, Errick will return to Nest on Main in Northport Village for her second pop-up shop, featuring a fresh display of Le Gaudere’s seashell-inspired jewelry.
“I think it will speak to a lot of people,” Errick expressed. “I’m very happy to be working with Nest and the community. It’s great to be able to showcase myself and my jewelry in a local store because it’s so specific to Northport.”
