In a livestream keynote, Oppo unveiled its latest smartphones, the Reno11 and Reno11 Pro, marking their official launch in China.
A distinctive feature of the Reno11 series is the introduction of a refreshed “gemstone design.” The phones exhibit three distinct types of lustre—starlight, pearlescent light, and moonlight—reflecting off the device’s physique. Adding to the aesthetic appeal, the camera housing showcases a unique ring with gemstone cut edges, exemplifying Oppo’s commitment to a jewelry-inspired aesthetic.
Oppo Reno11: A Blend of Style and Performance
The Oppo Reno11 boasts a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,412 x 1,080 pixels, featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ support, and 2,160Hz PWM dimming with an impressive 950-nits peak brightness.
Under the hood, the device is powered by a MediaTek 8200 chipset, complemented by LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a substantial 4,800mAh battery with 67W wired SuperVOOC charging capabilities. Running on Android 14, the phone is cloaked under Oppo’s ColorOS 14 reskin.
The focus on external design and photography prowess, a hallmark of the Reno series, continues with the Reno11. It sports a 50MP primary camera equipped with a Sony LYT-600 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. Additionally, the 32MP front camera caters to high-quality selfies and video calls.
Connectivity features include dual 5G SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.4. However, it remains unclear whether the device has IP-rated water or dust resistance.
In the Chinese market, the Oppo Reno 11 is available at CNY2,499 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, with higher configurations of 12+256GB and 12+512GB retailing at CNY2,799 and CNY2,999, respectively. Local pricing and availability details for other regions are yet to be disclosed.
Oppo Reno11 Pro: Elevating Excellence
Building upon the foundation of the base model, the Oppo Reno11 Pro enhances several key aspects. The 6.74-inch AMOLED display features a higher pixel density, boasting a resolution of 2,772 x 1,240 pixels and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, a flagship-grade mobile processor from late 2022, the Reno11 Pro positions itself as a strong contender against flagship phones from previous generations.
The camera setup retains the 50MP main camera but utilizes a different Sony IMX890 sensor, complemented by the same ultra-wide and telephoto shooters.
Despite a slightly smaller 4,700mAh battery, the Reno11 Pro compensates with faster 80W SuperVOOC wired charging. Interestingly, the official China specifications page mentions Bluetooth 5.3 instead of Bluetooth 5.4.
The Oppo Reno11 Pro comes in two variants in the Chinese market, starting at CNY3,499 for the 12+256GB version and a higher-priced CNY3,799 for the 12+512GB variant. Details regarding local pricing and availability in other regions will be revealed upon announcement.
