In a strategic move to further strengthen its global presence, the International Coloured Gemstone Association (ICA) has entered into a partnership with AV Globale, a distinguished member based in Dubai, to establish the ICA GemBureau Middle East. This dedicated facility, situated in Dubai, is meticulously designed to cater to the needs of ICA members and trade representatives, both locally and internationally.
As part of its ongoing commitment to bolster the coloured gemstone industry, the ICA actively collaborates with industry bodies and organizations worldwide to establish GemBureaus. These bureaus play a pivotal role in providing ICA members with essential information, knowledge, and expertise concerning coloured gemstones.
The ICA GemBureau Middle East is set to provide its members with state-of-the-art business center facilities, competent administrative staff, and promotional support for conducting GemBureau activities. Open to all ICA members and those in the regional and international gems trade, the GemBureau Middle East will serve as the central hub for all ICA-related matters in the region, hosting member meetings and representing the association at relevant trade shows and industry events.
Douglas Hucker, CEO of ICA, emphasized the significance of GemBureaus in advancing the association’s mission. He stated, “GemBureaus allow the ICA to more effectively further our Association’s mission, strengthens our direct contact with our members, and provides our members access to the materials and services that improve their businesses. To accomplish this, we rely upon the generous material support provided by ICA members like AV Globale.”
As a non-profit trade association representing the international coloured gemstone industry, ICA boasts over six hundred members across forty-six countries worldwide. Earlier this year, the association held its biennial Congress in Dubai, underscoring the emirate’s pivotal role in the international coloured gemstones trade.
ICA President Damien Cody expressed delight in partnering with AV Globale, acknowledging Dubai’s increasing importance as a trading hub for coloured gemstones, diamonds, precious metals, and pearls. Cody stated, “ICA recognises the importance of Dubai as a new trading hub not only for coloured gemstones but also for diamonds, precious metals, and pearls. Having an ICA GemBureau providing services in the region is a big win, not only for ICA members but for the entire gem industry.”
Ashish Vijay, Director – UAE at ICA, highlighted the organization’s commitment to the overall development and growth of the international-coloured gemstone sector. Vijay expressed excitement about the Gem Bureau initiative in Dubai and outlined plans for future trade development activities, including B2B networking events, Coloured Gemstone Tenders, New Membership drives, and Educational Seminars related to gemstones.
“We are sure ICA members will find tremendous value from these programs in Dubai,” Vijay added, underlining AV Globale’s dedication to strengthening the gemstone trade in the UAE and the Middle Eastern region.
