TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The East Texas Gem and Mineral Society is gearing up for their much-anticipated annual Gem and Jewelry Show in Tyler this upcoming weekend.
Scheduled to take place from Jan. 26-28, the event promises a captivating array of cut and uncut stones, fossils, gems, jewelry, beadmaking equipment, and more available for purchase. Admission prices are set at $7 for adults, $3 for students, and free for children aged 5 and under.
Becky Whisenant, a representative from the East Texas Gem and Mineral Society, shared insights about the 27th edition of the show during a recent appearance on East Texas Live.
“We are thrilled to introduce a couple of new vendors and showcase exciting demonstrations,” Whisenant expressed. “Our hall of demonstrations, coupled with exhibits and numerous vendors, will provide a comprehensive experience. Additionally, we have engaging activities such as the silent auction, where attendees can acquire rocks at unpredictable prices. For the younger visitors, there’s the wheel of fortune and the chance to crack a geode, among other interactive offerings.”
The event promises hourly door prizes, a grand prize, and participation from 12 vendors representing various states. The show’s hours are as follows:
- Friday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
